On the mean number of 2-torsion elements in the class groups, narrow class groups, and ideal groups of cubic orders and fields
Given any family of cubic fields defined by local conditions at finitely many primes, we determine the mean number of 2-torsion elements in the class groups and narrow class groups of these cubic fields, when they are ordered by their absolute discriminants. For an order O in a cubic field, we study the three groups: Cl2(O), the group of ideal classes of O of order 2; Cl2 (O), the group of narr...
متن کاملDomination parameters of Cayley graphs of some groups
In this paper, we investigate domination number, $gamma$, as well as signed domination number, $gamma_{_S}$, of all cubic Cayley graphs of cyclic and quaternion groups. In addition, we show that the domination and signed domination numbers of cubic graphs depend on each other.
متن کاملClass Numbers of the Simplest Cubic Fields
Using the "simplest cubic fields" of D. Shanks, we give a modified proof and an extension of a result of Uchida, showing how to obtain cyclic cubic fields with class number divisible by n, for any n. Using 2-descents on elliptic curves, we obtain precise information on the 2-Sylow subgroups of the class groups of these fields. A theorem of H. Heilbronn associates a set of quartic fields to the ...
متن کاملCyclic wavelet systems in prime dimensional linear vector spaces
Finite affine groups are given by groups of translations and di- lations on finite cyclic groups. For cyclic groups of prime order we develop a time-scale (wavelet) analysis and show that for a large class of non-zero window signals/vectors, the generated full cyclic wavelet system constitutes a frame whose canonical dual is a cyclic wavelet frame.
متن کاملEfficient computation of root numbers and class numbers of parametrized families of real abelian number fields
Let {Km} be a parametrized family of simplest real cyclic cubic, quartic, quintic or sextic number fields of known regulators, e.g., the so-called simplest cubic and quartic fields associated with the polynomials Pm(x) = x3 − mx2 − (m + 3)x + 1 and Pm(x) = x4 − mx3 − 6x2 + mx + 1. We give explicit formulas for powers of the Gaussian sums attached to the characters associated with these simplest...
